"INTELLIGENT INFORMATION FROM SENSORS"

The goal of S2I, LLC is to provide customers with useful, validated, real-time, nondestructive sensor data for critical manufacturing processes. Deliverables focus on an integrated project proposal consisting of analytical solutions, suggested sensor/instrument platforms, development requirements, and implementation support.

The company has over 25 years experience in the fields of sensor design, development, and automation. Expertise is focused in the areas of spectroscopy (with emphasis in the Infrared, Near Infrared, and Raman ), optical and physical sensor design, chemometrics, and development of custom validation documentation.

Once your issues are understood from an analytical and business perspective, possible solutions are researched. Results are prioritized based on cost, benefit, and probability of success. Appropriate research and development resources and sensor manufacturers are identified. Each is assessed on an impartial basis with your needs of paramount importance. A majority of the work is performed under binding agreements (confidentiality, contractual, and patent). A proposal is sent to you in writing usually within a week.

Having virtually limitless access to information and experience, our services will allow you to overcome several hurdles to implementing advanced sensing and information technologies:

  1. an accurate assessment of the probability of success
  2. cost vs. benefit analysis (NPV calculations)
  3. unique, highly-skilled individuals, focused on your problem
  4. lower overhead - resources - where and when you need them
  5. minimizing learning curves by delivery of "turn-key systems"

All of these can provide you with the confidence to move forward and realize the advantages of an expanded, scientifically sound, real-time knowledge base for your key manufacturing operations.

To begin an association with S2I, ask yourself or your colleagues if there is any process information not currently captured that would allow you to optimize your operation from a safety, environmental, quality, regulatory compliance, cycle time, product yield and/or cost perspective. It is important to emphasize that there are no restrictions on the type of information, it is often the case that people are not aware that an unusual parameter can be measured. Sensor technology is advancing at such a rapid pace, with concurrent advancement in microfabrication, artificial intelligence, and expert systems, there is high probability that your toughest measurement needs can be met.

After the initial contact where you describe the general needs, an initial analytical assessment and literature probe will begin at no cost to you. Results from this inquiry will determine any further activity.
